Canton Rep Editorial Board: Short term investment with big return for city parks

The park system needs Canton voters’ help to maintain and improve on a commitment to green space and recreation opportunities that dates back nearly 125 years. The Repository editorial board supports Issue 1, the 4-mill, three-year parks levy.

Could free up money for safety!

If voters approve the 4-mill, three-year levy, the park system will have its own source of revenue. It won’t need the $1.1 million a year it receives from the city’s general fund. Council earlier passed a resolution supporting use of that money to hire more safety forces.
